N2 The Blue : dive staff

They say that once you own a Dive Shop, the first thing you do is STOP Diving!! Not true with N2 The Blue. I'm Derrick Hill and my wife and I started N2 The Blue in 2002 because we thought people should have the option to dive with smaller, more personal groups.

I've been diving since I was 12 years old. I finished my Divemaster at university, and achieved my instructor certification three years later. I started working on a dive boat in Ft. Lauderdale while waiting on the job that would sweep me off to the islands. Then, I went to work on Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands for a couple of years before coming to St. Croix. Since being on St. Croix, I have served on the Board of Directors for SEA (St. Croix Environmental Association) in 2007, and enjoy still being involved in daily operations.

Anne Hill

After getting certified in Curacao I immediately got addicted to diving (like most people do..) I dove a bunch of different places in Europe and the Red Sea before I eventually returned to the Caribbean Sea..

It happened in 2002.. My best friend and I left The Netherlands (yes, I'm Dutch) and found our way to St. Croix.. After completing our Divemaster Training and an unforgettable 3 months we returned home. She stayed there, and I decided not to. A few weeks later I came back to St. Croix, and I've been here ever since!

Living on St. Croix has been great for me; I met my husband, we have a fun and personalized business, I became a licensed captain, have done well over 2000 dives just on St. Croix, and pretty much every day I'm in the water leading dives or I'm sitting on the boat as a captain.. Not too bad, right?

I absolutely love the diving over here; there is always something new to look at;

uncountable amounts of Critters and Fish, Dolphins, Turtles, Rays, Eels, Sharks and during February/march Whales that are migrating by.. Come and check it out!!

Steve Medford

Captain Steve is one of our captains who also is certified in Mares repair. He moved to St. Croix from Frisco, Texas. His former career involved trading jet fuel, but has been with N2 The Blue now for 4 years. Steve immediately completed his divemaster rating, and then finished his training to be a licensed boat captain. The year Steve has able to upgrade his license to a masters 50 ton.

Jenny Keith

Jennifer and her husband Paul moved to St. Croix 4 years ago from Florida. She has a long history of working in the dive industry. Jenny's experience as a divemaster on Florida charter boats makes her a great dive guide. She has been our primary dive instructor since 2009, and ready to teach you all she knows. Jenny is also a professional underwater photographer who has years of experience with many different cameras and housings.

Tim Blanchette

Tim moved to St Croix from Massachusetts. He came to N2 The Blue as an experienced recreational diver. It didn't take long for him to decide that diving should be his next career. Now, Tim has been our primary divemaster since 2009 and he will never go back to diving the cold water of the Northeast.

Jeff Gay

Jeff started with N2 The Blue in October 2010. He is from Virginia, and decided it was time to move south. Jeff is a licensed boat captain, dive instructor, and repair tec for several brands of dive gear.
